360 Search [BETA] |

The Marin County Free Library is proud to announce the launch of a beta version of our 360 Search implementation. Like all beta tests, the 360 Search Beta is intended to give users a change to preview a new tool and to offer feedback.
What is 360 Search?
360 Search is a tool that simultaneously searches most of our article databases (listed in the Digital Content section of this site) as well as the MARINet Catalog. The intent of this product is to ease the burden on library patrons doing research through the Library by giving them access to multiple sources of information through a single Web-based interface. Unlike our current combined search solutions, 360 Search combines information from many differnt vendors. It is our hope that this will give users easy access to a broader range of information than they might otherwise access.
What Should I Expect?
As with most of our databases / digital content, access to 360 Search is limited to MCFL cardholders. Remote users will be prompted to login before they are allowed to access the system. If you are unfamiliar with this procedure, Please see our tutorial, "How Do I Login to the Catalog?"

One known issue with 360 Search is that searches can be rather slow to return results. The length of time that it takes to get search results is related to the number of databases that your select to search. To speed things up, de-select any databases you don't want to search.
How Can I Provide Feedback?
Pleas send you comments, complaints, complements, and suggestions to library@co.marin.ca.us.
