Local musician Joseph Bacon will perform a selection of classical guitar selections from the 16th-20th centuries in the Fairfax Library meeting room. This special evening will also include a performance on the Vihuela, a Spanish Renaissance instrument. Mr. Bacon has studied with Andres Segovia, Ida Presti, Alexander Lagoya and Julian Bream in addition to an extended study of Indian music with Ustad Ali Akbar Kahn. Mr. Bacon has performed in London, New York and Italy in addition to Bay Area performances. Join us for this opportunity to hear an extraordinary local talent in a free event sponsored by the Friends of the Marin County Free Library.

Knitting Group at Fairfax Library

Join our Knitting Group from 3-5pm one Saturday a month in our meeting room. We will help you get started if you don't know how to knit or bring your knitting project, meet new friends and provide inspiration to fellow knitters! Open to adults and kids at all skill levels (ages 9-12 must be with an adult).

Fairfax Library Book Club

The Friends of the Fairfax Library sponsor a Book Club which meets on the first Thursday of each month from 7-9pm. All books are available through the library. Check availability and request books through the Library's Catalog. The Fairfax Friends provide a moderator to keep discussions lively and interesting. Take Highway 101 to the San Anselmo exit. Continue west on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard past the center of Fairfax. The Library will be on the left across from St. Rita's Church.


Bus stop: The West Marin Stagecoach North Route stops nearby in downtown Fairfax. The Library is also on Golden Gate Transit routes 23 and 24.
